PLANNING BOARD MEETING
SEPTEMBER 17, 2008
PRESENT: Chairman Walt Ryan, Barney Brower, Robert Phillips, Marilyn Salvione
ABSENT: John Vadney
Chairman Walt Ryan opened the meeting at 6:30PM
MOTION: Upon motion made by Marilyn Salvione and 2nd by Barney Brower the minutes the
August 20, 2008 meeting were approved as written by the clerk. All in favor (4)

Chairman Ryan recused from any vote as it was a conflict of interest as William Coulter is his neighbor.
The Board discussed the difference between Exempt, Minor, and Major Subdivisions with the applicant. The Board reviewed the application. Mr. Coulter does not meet the criteria for an exempt subdivision. Mr. Coulter explained to the Board what he wanted to do with the property. The Board explained to Mr. Coulter that for a minor Subdivision he would need a survey done, and the Board explained the Zoning law lot size requirements. The pre application ended with no action taken by the Board.
Chairman Ryan discussed with the Board Smart Growth correspondence provided by the NYS Dept. of Transportation.
Chairman Ryan previously had a meeting with the Town Supervisor to discuss Commercial Districts. Supervisor Herb McLain advised Walt to set with the Whole Town Board at a meeting to discuss the ideas of Commercial Districts.
A letter from the Adirondack Park Agency was sent the Town in regards to Land Map changes
The National Conservatory also sent a letter to the Town in regards to Finch and Pyne property may be sold to Dept. of Environmental Conservation. They were looking for input as to what the Town would like to do with the land.
MOTION: Upon motion made by Barney Brower, and 2nd by Walt Ryan the meeting was adjourned at 7:30PM. All in favor (4) Ryan, Brower, Phillips and Salvione.
