A regular meeting of the Mayfield Town Board was held on Thursday, March1, 2007 at the Mayfield Municipal Complex 28 N School Street.

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 and opened with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Supervisor Alan McLain.

 

PRESENT:

Alan McLain, Supervisor

Richard Argotsinger, Councilman

Jack Putman, Councilman

Walter Ryan, Councilman

Kathy Sieg, Councilwoman

 

OTHERS PRESENT: Betty Tabor Historian, James Cownie, Tony Pastore the Recorder, Greg Hitchcock Leader- Herald.

 

PUBLIC

James Cownie spoke on the recent meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals which named Wesley Muddle as chairman and Richard Dixon as vice chairman

 

RES# 46 APPOINTMENT OF WESLEY MUDDLE AS CHAIRMAN OF THE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS.

On motion by Councilwoman Sieg and seconded by Councilman Argotsinger the following resolution was ADOPTED 5 AYES (McLain, Argotsinger, Putman, Ryan, Sieg) 0 NAYS

 

RESOLVED that the Mayfield Town Board approves the appointment of Wesley Muddle as chairman of the Zoning Board of Appeals and Richard Dixon as vice chairman.

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS/ UPDATES

HIGHWAY-

Councilman Putman reported that the highway committee recommended that the town board advertises for a one ton two wheel drive dump truck for the highway department.

 

RES# 47 APPROVAL TO ADVERTISE FOR A ONE TON DUMP TRUCK FOR THE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT

On motion by Councilman Putman and seconded by Councilwoman Sieg the following resolution was ADOPTED 5 AYES (McLain, Argotsinger, Putman, Ryan, Sieg) 0 NAYS

 

RESOLVED that the Mayfield Town Board approves to advertise for a one ton dump truck for the highway department with bids due to the town clerk by April 3, 2007 at 1:00 PM.

 

RIGHT TO FARM LAW-

Councilman Argotsinger reported that he had spoken with someone at Soil & Water Conservation Department regarding serving on the right to farm committee.

 

Councilman Ryan reported on the recent meeting of the advisory committee for the Hudson River Black River Regulating District.

 

RES# 48 APPROVAL FOR BOARD MEMBERS TO ATTEND WORKSHOP

On motion by Supervisor McLain and seconded by Councilman Ryan the following resolution was ADOPTED 5 AYES (McLain, Argotsinger, Putman, Ryan, Sieg) 0 NAYS

 

RESOLVED that the Mayfield Town Board approves for any board member to attend the workshop in Cooperstown with the town paying the registration fee and mileage.

 

Supervisor McLain reported on the recent meeting regarding health insurance.

 

RES#49 APPROVAL OF BLUE CROSS BLUS SHIELD EXCELLUS

On motion by Councilwoman Sieg and seconded by Councilman Argotsinger the following resolution was ADOPTED 5 AYES (McLain, Argotsinger, Putman, Ryan, Sieg) 0 NAYS

 

RESOLVED that the Mayfield Town Board approves Blue Cross Blue Shield Excellus as the insurance for town employees effective April 1, 2007.

 

 

A discussion was held on the estimates for the storage room.

 

RES# 50 AWARD CONTRACT TO FNH CONSTRUCTION

On motion by Councilwoman Sieg and seconded by Councilman Putman the following resolution was ADOPTED 5 AYES (McLain, Argotsinger, Putman, Ryan Sieg) 0 NAYS

 

RESOLVED that the Mayfield Town Board approves to award the contract to FNH Construction for finished drywall painted in two storage rooms with 5/8 fire code sheetrock contingent upon approval from the fire district.

 

RES# 51 AWARD FNH CONSTRUCTION FOR WORK AT TOWN COURT.

On motion by Councilwoman Sieg and seconded by Councilman Putman the following resolution was ADOPTED 5 AYES (McLain, Argotsinger, Putman, Ryan, Sieg) 0 NAYS

 

RESOLVED that the Mayfield Town Board approves to award FNH Construction the contract to frame, insulate, sheetrock, paneling of new wall in center of room at the town court building.

 

CORRESPONDENCE

Supervisor McLain reported that he had received a call from the engineer for the Post Office and a meeting has been set for Monday, March 5 for the town and engineer to meet at the Village Hall.

 

PUBLIC/ OTHER

Supervisor McLain reported that Betty Tabor Historian would be having surgery on Tuesday, March 6th and the board wished her well.

 

On motion by Councilwoman Sieg and seconded by Councilman Argotsinger the meeting was adjourned at 7:25 PM. 5 AYES (McLain, Argotsinger, Putman, Ryan, Sieg) 0 NAYS
