A regular meeting of the Town of Mayfield Town Board was held on Thursday, February 1, 2007 at the Municipal Complex 28 North School Street.

OTHERS PRESENT: Jim Cownie, Bill Guido, Betty Tabor Historian, Kathi Hillock Assessor, Erik LeClaire, Tom Ruliffson Highway Superintendent
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM and opened with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Supervisor McLain.
PUBLIC- Bill Guido spoke about the condition of the Bushnell Road.
Erik LeClaire of Wilbur Smith Associates gave an update of the Bushnell Road Bridge.
Superintendent of Highways Tom Ruliffson requested permission from the board to put a thin layer of blacktop on the road as soon as the blacktop plant opens for the season. A small discussion followed with the board agreeing that this would be a good idea.
COMMITTEE REPORTS/ UPDATES
Councilman Ryan reported that Councilman Argotsinger and himself had attended the recent water & sewer board meeting and gave an update on the meeting and explained the necessary steps needed to set up a water & sewer district.
Councilman Ryan reported on the Hudson River Black River Regulating District advisory meetings that he has attended and the next meeting will be on Wednesday, February 7th at the Edinburgh Town Hall at 6:30 PM.
Councilman Argotsinger reported that inventory sheets have been returned by the Town Supervisor and Town Clerk, and hoped the other department heads would be completing their sheets soon.
Supervisor McLain reported that he had met with Mang Insurance on health insurance and would like to set up a meeting with all town employees and a representative from Mang Insurance. A small discussion followed with Supervisor to coordinate the meeting.
Supervisor McLain reported that the Lift project would be started next week.
RES# 33 APPROVAL FOR COURT CLERKS TO BE PAID BI WEEKLY
On motion by Councilman Ryan and seconded by Councilman Argotsinger the following resolution was ADOPTED 5 AYES (McLain, Argotsinger, Putman, Ryan, Sieg) 0 NAYS
RESOLVED that the Mayfield Town Board approves to pay the court clerks biweekly instead of monthly as previous discussed.
ASSESSOR- Kathi Hillock Assessor submitted her monthly report and asked that the board hire Laurie Ann Lewis as assessor clerk.
RES# 34 APPOINT LAURIE ANN LEWIS AS ASSESSOR CLERK
On motion by Councilwoman Sieg and seconded by Councilman Ryan the following resolution was ADOPTED 5 AYES (McLain, Argotsinger, Putman, Ryan, Sieg) 0 NAYS
RESOLVED that the Mayfield Town board approves to appoint Laurie Ann Lewis as assessor clerk at a rate of $10.00 per hour within budget.
Superintendent of Highways Tom Ruliffson reported that a tree had fallen on the west stone wall across the beach and asked permission to cut the tree. A small discussion followed and Tom was instructed to check with Hudson River Black River Regulating District regarding this before touching anything there.
Supervisor McLain reported that Village Clerk Terri Brubaker's father in law had passed away and employees were donating to Hospice in his memory.
Jim Cownie reported that 3 members of the Board of Appeals had recently attended training.
RES# 35 MOVE INTO EXECUTIVE SESSION
On motion by Councilman Putman and seconded by Councilwoman Sieg the following resolution was ADOPTED 5 AYES (McLain, Argotsinger, Putman, Ryan, Sieg) 0NAYS
RESOLVED that the Mayfield Town Board approves to move into executive session at 8:10PM for the purpose of contract negotiations.
RES# 36 MOVE INTO REGULAR SESSION
On motion by Councilwoman Sieg and seconded by Councilman Argotsinger the following resolution was ADOPTED 5 AYES (McLain, Argotsinger, Putman, Ryan, Sieg) 0 NAYS
RESOLVED that the Mayfield Town Board approves to move out of executive session and back into regular session at 8:42PM.
On motion by Councilman Argotsinger and seconded by Councilman Ryan the meeting was adjourned at 8:45PM.
