A regular meeting of the Mayfield Town Board was held on Thursday, June 1, 2006 at the Mayfield Municipal Building 28 North School Street.

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Supervisor McLain and opened with the Pledge of Allegiance led by James Cownie.
PUBLIC- No one spoke at this time.
COMMITTEE REPORTS/ UPDATES
Councilwoman Sieg reported on the draft for the right to farm law that was supplied to the board members for comment. A discussion followed with Councilman Ryan stating that he liked the draft. Councilwoman Sieg and Councilman Argotsinger will meet make some final changes to the draft.
Councilman Putman reported that Councilman Argotsinger and he had finished the inventory. The board thanked them for all their work and the inventory sheets were given to the clerk to file.
HIGHWAY COMMITTEE- Councilman Argotsinger reported that he had spoken with Highway Superintendent Tom Ruliffson regarding surplus equipment to get rid off. The board felt more equipment should be gotten rid of and should have it ready when it is fall clean up days come. Councilman Argotsinger will contact Highway Superintendent Tom Ruliffson to suggest that more equipment should be gotten rid of.
Supervisor McLain reported that he had spoken with Mr.Acquaro regarding purchasing the water truck from the school. The price to purchase the truck from the school is $3,000.00
A suggestion was made to meet with the board from the school to discuss the purchase of the water truck and remind them of all the town gives to the school. Also Supervisor McLain suggested checking with Paul Wilde from Wilde Fire Equipment to see if he has anything the town could purchase. Councilman Argotsinger suggested purchasing a poly tank to mount on one of our present trucks to use instead of purchasing a truck. The highway committee will talk to Tom Ruliffson regarding this idea.
Eric LeClaire of Wilbur Smith Associates had contacted the town to set up a meeting regarding the Bushnell Road Bridge.
Planning Board had submitted a report on the adjustments to the Zoning Law for review.
Spring Clean up Figures were down from last year.
A letter from the Fire District was received regarding having a meeting. It was decided to meet with the fire district at the end of our June 14th meeting.
A new curbing request letter was sent.
A letter from DOH was received advising to only eat one meal a month of fish from the Great Sacandaga as there is a high mercury level. The supervisor said hundreds of lakes in New York received the same message.
Reminder there is an Rte 30 Corridor Study next Thursday, June 8th.
RES# 97 APPROVAL OF TOWN CLERK REPORT
On motion by Councilwoman Sieg and seconded by Councilman Argotsinger the following resolution was ADOPTED 5 AYES (McLain, Ryan, Sieg, Argotsinger, Putman) 0 NAYS.
RESOLVED that the Mayfield Town Board approves the town clerk report with fees collected in the A account $406.64 Decals account $5.53 B account $1620.60
Councilman Argotsinger questioned why we do not get the monthly reports from the bookkeeper each month. The supervisor will direct the bookkeeper to submit the reports monthly as requested.
RES# 98 ACCEPT MINUTES OF MAY 18TH MEETING
On motion by Councilman Ryan and seconded by Councilwoman Sieg the following resolution was ADOPTED 5 AYES (McLain, Ryan, Sieg, Argotsinger, Putman) 0 NAYS
RESOLVED that the Mayfield Town Board approves the minutes of May 18, 2006 as submitted.
RES# 99 MOVE INTO EXECUTIVE SESSION
On motion by Councilman Ryan and seconded by Councilman Putman the following resolution was ADOPTED 5 AYES (McLain, Ryan, Sieg, Argotsinger, Putman) 0 NAYS.
RESOLVED that the Mayfield Town Board approves to move into executive session at 7:30 PM for the purpose of health insurance contract and personnel.
RES# 100 MOVE OUT OF EXECUTIVE SESSION
On motion by Councilman Putman and seconded by Councilman Ryan the following resolution was ADOPTED 5 AYES (McLain, Ryan, Sieg, Argotsinger, Putman) 0 NAYS.
RESOLVED that the Mayfield Town Board approves to move out of executive session and back into regular session at 7:54PM.
RES# 101 APPOINT CARL AVERY AS SANITATION EMPLOYEE
On motion by Councilwoman Sieg and seconded by Councilman Ryan the following resolution was ADOPTED 5 AYES (McLain, Ryan, Sieg, Argotsinger, Putman) 0 NAYS.
RESOLVED that the Mayfield Town Board approves the appointment of Carl Avery as a sanitation employee effective June 19th.
On motion by Councilman Argotsinger and seconded by Councilman Putman the meeting was adjourned at 7:58 PM. 5 AYES (McLain, Ryan, Sieg, Argotsinger, Putman) 0 NAYS.
