Town Road Specifications
The following are standards to be met by owner before the Town of Mayfield will consider acceptance of a private road for public use as a public highway:
1. Three-rod deeded right-of-way to the Town.
2. Twenty feet road bed width.
3. Base of roadbed shall be at least one foot of crushed gravel.
4. Top of roadbed and shoulders shall be one foot of crushed gravel.
5. Shoulders shall measure at least five feet on each side of roadbed.
6. Ditches shall be provided on each side of roadway.
7. In the case of dead-end roads, a turn around in the form as filed with
the Town Clerk shall be provided.
8. At least three homes be located on the roadway already and sufficient
room for five homes be available (including the three already situated
thereon), along the proposed highway.
9. A minimum of three (3) inches of Asphalt Binder properly rolled and
compacted – to be D.O.T # 403.13 or D.O.T. #403.14 to be properly
placed for a total width of twenty (20) feet before any new roadway is
taken over by the Town of Mayfield.
