The Town Board consists of the four elected Council Members and the Supervisor. All meetings are open to the public, and residents are encouraged to attend. The Town Board is the Legislative body of the Town and any official action requires a majority vote of the board. The Supervisor formulates the agenda and presides over the meetings. The Supervisor is also a member of the Fulton County Board of Supervisors representing the Town of Mayfield. The Town of Mayfield has the second largest weighted vote on this board. Supervisor McLain also currently servs on three county committees, which meet at least once a month, along with the regular monthly meeting of the full board. This year he serves on the Building and Grounds, Social Services, and Economic Development Committees, the last of which he serves as its Vice Chairman for 2006.
The Supervisor is elected to a term of 2 years and the Councilpersons are elected to a term of 4 years.
